I grew up in Europe, but life took a decisive turn when I moved to South Africa to help build Amakhosi Safari Lodge from the ground up. Creating a five-star game lodge in the heart of the African bush was more than a project, it was an immersion into a world of raw nature, rhythm, and wonder. Surrounded daily by wildlife, vast landscapes, and ever-changing light, I found myself witnessing scenes too powerful and too fleeting to simply pass by unseen.
That was when photography became essential.
In the African bush, moments are unrepeatable. A lion’s glance, an elephant emerging through dust, the quiet tension before movement these interactions will never happen in exactly the same way again. Capturing them requires patience, an understanding of animal behaviour, and the ability to anticipate rather than react. Being in the right place at the right time matters but so does knowing your equipment instinctively, because often you only have one chance.
My background, however, is rooted in hospitality, an industry built on people, connection, and attention to detail. Working closely with guests from around the world and leading teams in a high-end lodge environment taught me how to read people, create ease, and ensure that both clients and staff feel comfortable, valued, and genuinely cared for. This mindset naturally carries into my work as a photographer.
Landscape photography taught me to work with light and scale. Wildlife photography taught me patience, timing, and respect for the moment. And these same principles flow naturally into my wedding photography. A wedding day, like the wild, unfolds once. The emotions are real, unrepeatable, and honest joy, connection, quiet intimacy, and celebration. You don’t stage these moments; you recognise them as they happen and capture them with sensitivity and precision.
Real estate photography adds another dimension: storytelling through space. Here, the challenge is to translate atmosphere, flow, and feeling into a visual experience allowing viewers to sense what it would be like to step inside.
Across all genres, my approach remains the same: to observe carefully, work patiently, and photograph with intention.
Whether I’m capturing a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife interaction, the emotion of a wedding day, or the character of a space, my goal is always to create images that feel timeless, honest, and deeply connected to the moment they were made.
